Wisconsin to Illinois and Chicago

Day 6: Wisconsin, Illinois,
and that one city where those "other" sports teams play.

Below we have pictures of a large body of water...
Lake Michigan!
This body of water is one of the largest bodies of freshwater on the planet...
More Lake Michigan
but this time with lighthouses!
So it's pretty amazing to see this enormous body of water...
Lake Michigan (again!)
and not smell the world's toilet!
And again!

Here we have a freeway framed by the Chicago skyline.
All the photos below were taken by Erica while in the observation deck of the John Hancock building.
During this time, Rob was enjoying a manly peanut butter mood'd from Jamba Juice.
And not because he is afraid of heights: oh no!
He decided someone needed to stay below and guard the wandering tourists.

The ground as seen from the sky.

The Old Chicago Water Tower
(It's the small white building in the middle of this picture)

Damn, more Chicago!
Shit, it's like we came to see this city or something.

Suburbs!

A topless beach!

The rooftops of buildings.
How exciting!
I mean, it's so breathtaking!

The tall building from which the previous photos were taken.

The Old Chicago Water Tower!
Apparently medieval armies used to lay siege to this building.

Lord of the Rings: The Later Years
Pippin Opens a Bar

Look close at the head (heh heh).
Feeling lucky? ;)

This entire bar is underground.
Apparently Hobbits frequent this place.
And apparently judging by how empty it is,
they do so infrequently.
Ok, I SWEAR: this fire is not our fault.
Sure this is taken from the back of the car
while driving away
and being chased by Illinois State Troopers
as a helicopter news team films us.
But it was NOT our fault!
(And if anyone asks, we were smashing mailboxes with Anne.)
